Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies Desires to acquire services of the most competent individuals for a project run through UNDP and UoP joint Moll to have VPPD centre established for research and data analysis. VPPD stands for the “Virtual Platform for Peace and Development Observation and Analysis” an online centre initiated in November 2015 for advanced Open Data analysis on development, peace, and social cohesion in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The positions are based under the ToRs mentioned against each position as follows:
Peace and Conflict Analysis Specialist
The VPPD is looking for a political, development, and peace and conflict analyst/Senior Research Officer, with a focus on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
JOB BRIEF
The Specialist will be responsible for research, analysis and the production of frequent reports, additional requests for information and supporting the creation or modification of University of Peshawar’s VPPD’s activities and information solutions.
Tho successful candidate will help analyze, triage various Open Data sots on development, politics and conflict in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The candidate will expand the VPPD’s data collection, analysis and production activities by initiating, training and managing a team. The successful candidate will be working as a member of the core analytical team in Peshawar. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Analysis and contextualization of open source data using background knowledge of the political, development, and peace and conflict situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pakistan.
Creation of brief, concise and direct reports and Power Point presentations in order to convey findings to the stakeholders in an efficient and professional manner Structured, efficient and methodological collection and use of data, and proficient use of VPPD for data gathering and analysis
Collection, analysis, and reporting on relevant data and trends and stakeholder outreach and coordination for ad-hoc requests and in support of the VPPD team Training and management of a team of interns to scale capacity of VPPO for peace and conflict analysis, and training of stakeholder partners to share knowledge and enhance capacity
Development of data collection and analysis strategies to help support the development of the VPPD’s data processing and analytical abilities
DATA AND SYSTEMS SPECIALIST
UoP’s Virtual Platform for Peace and Development Observation and Analysis (VPPD) Is looking for Intent to maintain and build-out our software data platform This is your chance to bo a part of an initiative that will shape the field of Open Data access and analysis in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa For this particular position we are looking for someone who has solid coding chops, an appreciation for visual aesthetics, and a love for helping people make sense of data. An appreciation of tho link between data: politics; peace and conflict analysis is also called for.
